Ok So I am really confused with all this Horse Power and KW restrictions.

So I have a full car "B" Licence and it used to be a provisonal A1 + B licence. I have booked the bike test "A" so what licence do I need to be able to to that test? And what size bike can I drive?

    Thanks in advance

You need a provisional A to sit the A test. You'll need to sit the theory test and all that good stuff.

Its not down to size. Its down to that confusing horsepower and kilowatt stuff. :) Basically, a power output not exceeding 33bhp or 25kW, or a power to weight ratio less than or equal to 0.16. Some standard 250ccs are ok, and there are lots of factory restricted bikes on the market of 600 and 650cc.

Its complicated because it varies from bike to bike, but you can have your bike restricted to make you legal if its in excess of the above. Also, bear in mind if you do your test on a 125cc bike you will only be entitled to an A1 (125cc) licence.

If youre unsure post the bike model here, and someone can check the bike youre asking about.
