I am looking to sell or trade in a Rickenbacker 4003 bass and a 120watt behringer amp (bx1200), both in great condition, over the next few weeks. I live in Waterford. Just wondering if anyone could recommend, what sites to try sell or what stores to try trade into.
Also if somebody could recommend what prices to settle for when selling. Replys are much appreciated.

I could be wrong, but I've never heard of a shop doing a good deal on trade-ins. You'd be far better off selling them yourself, on adverts.ie, buyandsell.ie or ebay. IIRC shops will usually offer you roughly half what they think they can sell it for.

Put the Rickenbacker on eBay, they're currently hard to find and you might make a good bit. RIC have also recently put up their prices and have a large backlog.

Put the Behringer on adverts.ie or in the buy and sell, you won't make much on the behringer so its not really worthwhile putting on eBay. :)

Don't trade into a shop, they'll give you VERY little money.

Aye, shop trade-ins tend to offer little as mentioned above. Sell it privately or online to maximise your price.

yeah exactly what they said, shops that take in 2nd hand gear give a crappy return cause they have add the 21% after they buy it off of you, well at least i was told that stuff when i was asking about trading in my dd-3, if its true lovely, if not that particular music store is jus doin what it does best ;)

i sold it for 100 privatly and they said they'd take it for 80 so meh thats that,

+ im sure the shops would kinda see if u knew what u were selling so they'd chance there arm givin a ridiculously bad price at first glance and so on and so forth
