    Thanks for the heads-up - although I really shouldn't, I'm sure I will buy 1 or 2 of these.

Nice one, basquille. Talk about going above and beyond - that's a lot of effort for a thankless task.

Thanks OP. I have a question though. What camera have you got? How com the right hand side of the picture is sharp and the other side is blured.

    Cheers.

The EXIF data of the picture says it's a (Nokia, I suppose) 6280. :)

Good offer though, I'll have to go look, was there many more not in the picture or did you get most of them in the shot?

    Bang on! :D

That's practically all of them (there's one or two somewhat outta shot on the right hand side).. there was a couple of Barney DVD's along the bottom shelf too (if you're that way inclined ;)) which you can see along the bottom of the photo.

EDIT: Actually, the one outta shot besides 'Alien Vs Predator' is 'Die Hard 2'. There's one more under that.. but can't make it out. That's practically all that was in the Sligo store anyways.

Am pissed off because I just filled up my 5th DVD rack and not allowed to buy any more! :( Fascists!

The reason the photo was blurred was I took it at an angle and had my right foot in closer so it was nearer (and less blurred) on the right than it is on the left. Great camera for what's it worth - it's a 2 megapixel (though flash is useless!)

You probably meant to mention Ghostbusters 1+2 (2dvd) as i glanced at it as well!
Pity the 2 Home-Alone films werent together?
BTW Did you take that with yer camera phone?

Maybe this should be in another post, but while i'm here i saw Buy 1-Get-1 Free dvd's in GameStop Inc. Prison Break S2P1 or 2 cant remember, 24 boxsets (3) etc

    Heatons - 3 dvd's for E25 inc. Gladiator (3dvd), LOTR-Return of the King (4dvd), Minority Report (2dvd)

Feel free to move into another post if needed.

    Yep, Nokia 6280.

Gamestop tend to do this a fair bit but typically charge ludicrous prices for their boxsets.

Remember looking at 'Scrubs - Buy One, Get One Free' in there before but they were charging €70 a season. Not much of a bargain when you look at it this way.

Ah... the oul' "Let's Double The Price of Everything" sales... man they're annoying.

Remember HMV selling the individual seasons of Futurama for €60 apiece - buy one get one free, though.

The Prison Break boxsets were afaik E34, suppose if you could find the other one you wouldnt mind the offer!

I dont know how much the Scrubs boxsets were, (today were E25-40 in Tesco's) but they were E45 the last time in & remember telling a girl who worked there you could get them for E20 online, she seemed surprised about it, i assumed she was part-time as it would normally be frowned upon or worse get a dirty look :D

    Just luv that :p

I went down to the Rathfarnham Tesco and the cheapest titles seemed to be about a tenner. Is the offer only available in some Tesceanna?

Same situation in Mullingar. Only a handful of titles (Barney, Mickey Mouse) @ €6.50. Nowhere near the selection in the pic above...

Ditto in Blanch .. must be the bigger stores only. I'll check in Finglas later though as I'll be out that way anyway.

Why?!?! One of the only films i turned off half-way through!

Seems odd that it's only in the Sligo store, anyone else find them in their local Tesco?

You missed the best bit!!:) Have seen the trailer for part 2 in HD and it looks brilliant. Not everyone's cup of tea, though.

went to the 4 () tescos near me over the past week and saw a few offers but nothing like that selection

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 900 ✭✭✭cosgrove80

Tesco in Wexford have the same or at least very similar selection.

Ghostbusters 1 &2 boxset and Shakespeare in Love/Pride and Prejudice boxset were probably the best value

anybody spot any of these simular titles in any of the branches in dublin or midland country'??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,366 ✭✭✭luckat

Sounds as if it's a local clearance sale. Do you work in Tesco's, OP, or did you just happen to see the offers in your local shop?

No, don't work in my local Tesco. Just saw it in the Sligo branch.

    Am stunned it's nowhere else.

They do have a big selection at 4.95, 5.95 and 6.95 in Midleton, but not as good a selection as shown by the OP

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 346 ✭✭Cassiel

Have them in Celbridge. Not located in the usual DVD section but instead a row of cardboard display units. Picked up Constantine + V for Vendetta for €6.95 and Unbreakable 2-disc for €5.95. Some dearer discs were in the 3 for €25 deal.
About half of the DVD's looked to be for kids.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,194 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Well, was just in Tesco and they still have all the titles above (and plenty of stock of them).

By the way, the title to the right of 'The Deep End' that I couldn't make out - it's 'Night Watch'

Oh.. and they've loads at €5.95 too like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2, Born Free. No picture of those i'm afraid (I know... i'm slipping! :()
