Bad news alright. May be the death of it. Some of the competitors where saying they aren't coming back as they have to give all the money back to sponsors and can't afford to repay as it's all gone. And how can they guarantee the safety of competitors next year when they cover 6000km?

Sorry to hear the bad news. I imagine it's terribly disappointing for the pair of Irish lads taking part this year. I know a lot of time and effort had gone into their preparations. Still the organisers had to make a decision on the safety of those competing and supporting the race this year.
