PS3 turning on and nothing on screen

upgraded to 2.10 a week ago. everything ok untill yesterday when i go to turn it on, it turns on but nothing comes up on screen. tried both scart & hdmi and in two different tvs. Im guessing it broke! but has anyone else had this problem. do i bring it back to Harvey Normans or ring sony direct?

Press and hold down the power button for 10 seconds when turning on PS3 until it beeps twice to reset TV settings. You may have changed a setting accidently.

when turning it on from the main power switch at the rear or the touch one on the front?

i have tried when it is on where i hold down the power button till it beeps twice and turns its self off. but still no luck. is that the same as you describe?

PS3 plugged in and turned off so red LED is on.
Press and hold the PS3 power button for 10 seconds until it beeps twice. First beep will be when you press it and it PS3 turns on, green LED on. 2nd will be after 5-10 seconds and video settings reset.
