Putting a .MOV video to Youtube?

Took a few vids on new digital camera, and they are saved to the pC as .mov files. They are about 50mb, How do i get them on to youtube? I tried already and it quotes an insane amount of time to upload 50mb... how can i convert the file and do it quicker?
