folkswagen , cant comment on easy devices web site but the 720 is a fine unit. There are a few issues with it though. The tele atlas maps for ireland are v poor. I also go to spain and I use an old navteq map there as its better than tele atlas. Then theres the text message option, it doest work with a lot of new phones, I have tried Nokia E65, N73 and N95 and none of them work. I have seen issues with phone hands free on various forums and while I agree that its not as good as my parrot car kit its still not bad.

    thanks dfdream

as regards a suitable phone to use with it, I have printed off a copy of the compatible phones and intend to purchase a new phone that will work okay, I would go for one with full compatability - that is taking into consideration that the compatability list is correct on tomtom site:D

anyone purchased fron that company before?

@ etcetc thanks for the link - even better!!!

I will buy a bluetooth phone aswell - have the list of phones which are completely compatible with the tomtom unit but from looking at the likes of carphone warehouse and vodafone site etc, I am struggling to find one of those listed -

can anyone recommend a phone which is easily available to buy out there and has full compatability with the tomtom go 720?

well, what do you know - got talking to a very GOOD salesman in carphone Warehouse and ended up buying the Garmin 310:confused:

Well, I have a Garmin unit which I think I really wanted and I have bluetooth facility

but I don't have European maps - the salesman told me that when I do my one free download I can get the European maps - I am hoping you are not laughing at this stage - and that it is somehow true - legally;)

Anway, any problems and I can take it back to the shop to the nice salesman...
