Hey I have bought a new lcd tv but it doesn't have a S-video out connection but it does have a vga connection. I want to know is it possible/worthwhile connecting my laptop to my tv using this? I have connected using a gold plated S-video out before and this was very sweet but I am not sure what to do now. There is also 1 hdmi connection too and I have heard it is possible to use this but is there a splitter sort of thing so you can switch between two hdmi compatiable devices i.e the ps3 and maybe an s-video to hdmi connection for the laptop?
    Cheers

Another thing is that in the past I have used the s-vid cable on other peoples tvs that didn't have an s-vid connection on their tvs and it still worked but only in black and white but it doesn't work at all on the new tv

    Howdy,

The VGA connection should work fine i use it to connect my Mac mini to the LCD, Dont forget you need a Phono to mini jack to connect the sound as well.
