LCD finding PS3 signal problem

    Hello,

I was wondering if any body could help me. I have a samsung 37 inch LCD (i'm not too sure of the number but it is one of the newer models i.e. 3 HD ports).

My question is that the majority of the time the TV does not find my PS3.
I have the PS3 connected through a HDMI cable into HD port 2 (my surround sound is in port 1) yet the TV will only "find" the signal about one time in every ten attempts.

Has anybody any ideas as to where I'm going wrong?

I've dsiconnected and re-connected everything a good few times but with no luck.

    Thanks,
    J.

Do you get the same problem regardless of what HDMI port on the TV that you connect to?

I had the same problem before with my xbox360. It turned out in the end to be a damaged pin on the HDMI cable. A HDMI cable plug has a particular line inside it called a 'Hot plug detect'. Its basically just a 5 volt line. If the TV doesn't detect this on a particular port then it will assume that nothing is connected to it.

I work in the industry myself in the area of HDMI chip design so if you describe your problem in more detail I might be able to help.
