Sending individual photos from Mac

This is a complete and utter noob question so I will apologise for troubling all you seasoned Mac veterans. Basically when I want to email or bluetooth a photo, finder comes up of course. So I click pictures, then I click iPhoto library hoping to see a list of all the photos, perhaps divided into folders. However, iPhoto opens up automatically and I cannot pick a separate photo. Does anyone know how I can get round this at all? I hope I have explained this all ok. Any help would be great.

    Thanks

    Sorry if I miss-understand you...
If you are in iPhoto, select the photo you want and click the email icon at the bottom... a dialogue will open up asking you what quality/size you want to send etc.... you can select multiple photos by command-clicking (apple key + click) etc.

If you are viewing a file in finder, click and hold the file, drag it onto your email icon in the dock is another way....

Sorry. I didn't really explain myself well there. Say I'm in my gmail account and I click on "attach a file" and I have a single photo in mind that I want to attach. Upon clicking "attach a file" finder window will open up. I will click on "Pictures" in the left hand column. When I do this the Pictures folder appears. Inside that is "miscellaneous", "photo booth" and "iPhoto library". Upon clicking on iPhoto library it seems that I have reached the end of the line if you know what I mean. That click automatically opens up iPhoto. Instead I'd much rather just see a list of photos, one of which I could select as the desired attachment and proceed.

I know it is probably something really stupid I'd be grateful if anyone could help.

you have to ctrl-click that iphoto library fle and press "show package contents" then browse to the "Originals" folder.

best way to do emailing is to drag the photo to your desktop and then just attach it to the email that way.. well handier

Nonsense, that is what we are here for. Ask away, please.

That doesn't work for me in gmail either.

Easiest solution if you are dealing with single photos alright.

this is a good way for you to do this.

Also bear in mind if Gmail does not send your photo or photos ( you can drag a few photos onto the desktop) you may have to crop that photo / photos and make it / them smaller. Just telling you this in case you find this way ( what big_moe just said) does not work and you are wondering why.

Actually why not choose PICTURES under MEDIA instead. That gives you an iPhoto listing:

Tis indeed. I love it for iTunes, gives you your playlists so handy to upload from your recently played lists and things like that.
