given malta and cyprus have joined the euro, numerically there are alot of club med countries which are historically very limp wristed when it comes to looking after their currencies throw in ireland and france both looking for lower rates and there would seem to be trouble ahead. so how does the voting work and is there a weighting in place when it comes to policy and rates?

To put it simply it's more or less france and germany that control rates, doesn't matter how crap the irish economy goes they'll always raise or lower rates to suit themselves.
