Ok, i dont know which one i want more.

Took both for a spin over the last few days and loved both.

I know the Gen7 is more expensive, but its likely to be cheaper to run and I will eventually sell it for more (especially as i'll be importing it from England).

The only thing about the Celica Gen7 is that its a bit hairdresser, but tbh that doesnt bother me at all. I think in looks, the Gen7 nicks it a bit and I prefer the interior of the gen7, but i love the coolness or soemthing of the gen6!

    Arghh decisions! i need help!

I've an aunt that used ti drive a 7(though my cousin drove it more than her:D:D), get a 6, they look better, and with the same budget you'll get a shining example of a 6

get7 190bhp VVTLI UK car with a history and some nice leather seats! I've had one and the gen6 doesn't compare and the jap imorts don't compare!

the celica is costing me quite a bit to insure unfortunatly, but i think it'll be worth it. The 190 is surprisingly only 50quid more to insure.

    I still dunno im undecided!

generation 6 is a much better looking car

Gen 7 is nicer looking, but a lot sharper to drive than gen 6. 1.8 in Gen 6 is a waste of time.

Imo the gen7 looks better, much more modern looking.

I think ill get the gen7, just dont know if i can afford it at the moment. might wait a few months and bring one in from the Uk around March

If you going to the UK then do it before July 1st. I would image the VVTi-L 190bhp will be more expensive to import and tax after then.

Ah will certainly be before july 1st. Whether or not i'll get the 190bhp version, they seem to cost a lot more than i can afford. Id say it would be worth it though!

just another thing, when your importing from the Uk, is the VRT listed on the Revenue website the maximum amount they will charge or is often even more/cheaper than whats listed?

It's the exact amount they will charge unless there are "extras" on the car over and above the standard spec that you are clearing.
Also, the 190bhp version is a good bit quicker when you really push it, but as the high lift cam doesn't kick in until 6000rpm you don't notice any difference at all in day to day driving between it and the 140bhp version.

Cool. Thnaks for clearing that up. Im not a speed freak, but did enjoy driving a DOHC vtec before and putting the foot down a bit. TBH it will encourage me to put the foot down, something I dont really want. but ive been hearing about how good the "lift" is.

I've had 3 Celica so far, the Celica GTR (5th gen), Celica GT (6th gen) and the Celica T-Sport (7th gen). Of the 3 the T-Sport is the most fun and quickest to drive.

As for looks I think (IMO) the 7th gen just beats the 6th gen. :)

Go for the Gen 6 model, the gen 7 is a womens car or a gays car one or the other. The Gen 6 looks much better from behind nice and wide and lovely curves. The Gen 7 looks very ugly from behind too box shaped looking :D. The Gen 6 looks really nice with the high spoiler a set of JDM lights and nice skirts, pure class . :). Gen 6 all the way. ;)

Hmmm... gen 7 is gay, yet you seem obsessed with the back end of the cars... trying to tell us something?!? :D

Go for the Gen6, far better looking. How abouts the Beams engines ones, you'll get a fresh import for below €10k. About 200bhp as well.
