    My God
Today is my 1st day back at work after a great christmas, and I must say
my motivation is at an all time ZERO !!

I live in Spain, so we(gf & myself) just flew back yesterday,
so its a case of post holiday blues + missing my family something terrible.

    anyone else get this ?

I feel so low today .. it's horrible and i'm finding it difficult to concentrate in work ( hence im on here!) ..

You've got a girlfriend who loves you, a job, you live in a nice country, and things could be a lot worse. I'm not trivialising your problems, but every now and again if you think really hard about how sh!t things aren't (look at the HIV thread for example:( ) it can make you feel a little bit better.

Ah its pretty awful alright but we really if you want to keep a dececnt quality of life for ourselves we have no choice but to go through all this crap. Best thing to do is to organise something to look forward to at the end of the month, im in the middle of booking a short break and its cheered me up no end.

OP, I empathise 100%. If I could I would hibernate for the entire month of January and emerge into the land of the living on 1st Feb. I hate, hate, hate January.

As other posters have said, book a weekend away for end Jan or early Feb. It will give you something to look forward to.

Otherwise, the only thing to do is throw yourself into work or a hobby/activity that will keep you busy for the next four weeks. Then before you know it life will be back to normal and the dreaded Jan will be almost over
