I thought this might interest a few people....

I got an email this morning from my contact in G&G, linking to this video - http://tw.youtube.com/toptech101

Its a pneumatic blowback system that doesnt use the piston to produce the blowback effect the way the current versions of the L85 does, so it wont affect ROF. Pretty cool.

He says all future G&G guns will use this feature.

*Keith/O1s1n - I posted this for informational purposes, but if you think it should be in the Eirsoft thread, feel free to move it.

nah, it's fine posting it here

was about to link you to the thread i posted with the new TOP gbb mechbox's, but that one appears to be electric, looks nice, but doesn't sound like it produces all that much blowback effect

looks nice, i find the fact that thats looks like a G&G hk416 more interesting tbh :P still only about 40mm of movement I'm more interested in the replacement gas gearboxes that are on there way

i've been looking into the tm74 and although the system seams to be more complicated it does seem to be reliable and constant

I always felt aegs lacked realism, gbbs always pleased me in this regard.

    I'd buy one.

What I found annoying about the TM one....of all the guns they could build a blowback system into, they pick an AK74. Stupid :)

Glad to see innovation still in action.

Id love an aeg with a cocking charging handle, and some appreciable recoil, would be nice, a weight flying forward and back like the slide on a gbb feels.

Obviously not authentic recoil but ye'know, something.

GBB's don't come close to the recoil of a real pistol. Its like shooting a pistol in the movies, you can blast a full mag in to the target with ease unlike in reality :D

    Thats true

Hey they could make a weighted m4 stock that jumps around, a solid one or a crane, it could have its own battery and be wired in to a mosfet or something to vibrate or jump forward and back beating the arm off you! Weight and linear motor or piston or something, oh I should patent it!

I thought the very same thing. However i'd say it has something to do with the large size of the AK74 reciever, easier to house a blowback system in. Lets hope they get some M4 and G36-style AEGs on the go. :)

I see a bunch of problems with that from the off.
    1) If you look on the hand rail there appears to be a gas charging nozzle, which would imply a small tank in the hand rail. This means weight and expense with regard to gas, also it means there's more to strip down.
    2) The "sling" you see at the top corner of the screen intermittently seems to actually be the battery power leads. This leads me to believe the gas tank (if it is indeed a gas tank) has pushed the battery out of the usual position.
    3) The breach only opens a third of the way. While this is technically blowback, it doesn't mean you'll actually feel any recoil. The breach door on most aeg's is an aluminium strip so there's no huge weight to force back. It's merely something else that makes noise and looks semi decent. It would look better with a dummy round behind it though.
    4) I'm sceptical about how long that system would hold. Those breaches are there for aesthetic reasons, unless G&G come up with some seriously reinforced breach mech and a good way to keep it lubed then I can see a lot of hassle with them in the future.
    5) It is indeed, as Shiva said, just another thing to go wrong.

By the looks of it the piston can move forward freely, without the weight, only pushing it back.
So no fps effect, only rof.

    Cool.
