have sky+ and gonna get Sky HD - in apartment complex.

Does Sky HD work on existing co-axial cables (two signals in) for Sky +? In order words, does Sky HD need special cables?

Can i add the extra manual tuned channels with the Sky HD box?

And can channel 4 HD be added this way?

    Thanks

Sky HD uses the same two cables , no problems there.

Yes you can manually tune channels , same as any other Sky box.

Channel 4 HD can not , at this moment , be tuned in manually , though I read on this board that it " Might " show up some time in the next few months on the EPG once all the legal and technical wrangling has been ironed out

The manually tuned channels won't record though. Same as Sky+

Am I presuming correctly though that the fee you pay sky for sky HD is for their subscription HD channels and recording and that if you put an FTV card into the sky hd box that you can get ch4 hd except you cannot record it? ie you can actually view ch4 in hd?
Or is it the case that the hd card and the sky card I have now are different?
In which case does that mean that only sky subscribers in the UK can avail of ch4hd? I'd have thought uk legislation wise that that was illegal given that ch4 is a terrestrial non pay channel with iirc a public service remit aswell?
