Brittas Bay dune erosion

    Went for a walk on Brittas yesterday and was surprised by how much the dunes(on the southern end of the beach) have eroded over the last year. My dad who grew up near here and often went to brittas was shocked by how much they've changed. Apologies for the poor image quality- I only had my phone with me.

    Further up the beach the dunes are further back so are still intact

    While your pictures appear to show some recent erosion, IIRC, it was a storm in Sept 2006 (I think 21st) that did a lot of damage.
    I was down here shortly after, and was astonished at how much disappeared.

    Also of note after this storm was severe salt damage on vegetation up to half a mile inland.
