Desktop icon background

    For some unknown reason the desktop icon text has developed a background colour and I just can't get rid of it. Does anyone know how to?

    Right click My Computer and select 'Properties',

    then select the 'Advanced' tab,

    under 'Performance' click the 'settings' button
    (the first one),

    then scroll down the list and put a check
    beside "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"

    Click OK, then OK again.

    This should do it.
