    Hi all.

How does one go about finding out what HDDs are suitable for a particular model laptop (an Inspiron 6400 in this case) or will any 2.5" drive do?

    Thanks,

    S

    Any drive will do.

Check the connector type (SATA, from a very quick google). After that any 2.5" with the same connector should work. (Unless Dell are complete pricks with their recovery discs)

They used to charge extra for them. They were only about €6 but still it's the principle. They don't any more though.
