    Assistance required!

I can view all the PCs in my workgroup but when I try to connect to a pc to share its local printer i get a message " \\Name is not acessible. you might not have permission to use this resource".

I presume I have to change a setting in My Computer on all the PCs to make them accessible?

Are all PC's in the same workgroup?. Have you enabled file and printer sharing on them all also??

    Hi Feelgood.

Yeah all in same workgroup and icons appear on my view workgroup computers page.

Where do I enable file and printer sharing?

If you go into the connection properties of your LAN connection, you should see a little tick box there for File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, make sure this is selected.

Are all PC's have the same problem or just one?.

Have you got anything other than Windows Firewall installed...i.e. Norton Internet Security etc?

I disabled McAfee and it allowed me access.

Many thanks for you help Feelgood. I'm sure I'll require your services again!

No problems at all glad I could help....

Rather than disable McAfee it would be better in the long run to configure your firewall to allow access for File and Print sharing.

If you leave McAfee disabled theres no point in having it there at all and it wont provide you with any protection!.
