I've got a question about genetics.
Let's say 2 people that both have red hair (recessive gene) have a child.
Would that child likely have red hair too?
    What is the equation?

    correct me here folks....

Red hair is mendellian recessive - therefore 2 red haired parents carry two recessive genes each therefore every child would be red haired?

    Sounds right...

Always thought my 1,000th post would be more profound. Ah well.

If b= the gene for red hair, then a person with red hair would be bb.

    bb x bb

Well, I can't draw the diagram here, but yeah, all their kids should have red hair. That's it at its most basic, not factoring in mutations and stuff.

My dad has kind of auburn hair & his brother had 4 kids who all have red hair.
All my other cousins on that side have brown hair.
    Everyone has blue eyes
I have dark brown hair but the beard goes ginger after a few days(same with my uncles on my mums side). Everyone on my mums side has brown hair.

If I was to have a child with a brunette what are the chances o them being ginger? or just to be safe should I only consider parenthood with Asians/Africans(joke)

I'm half Irish-half Mauritian. My little brother is quite dark (he's pass off as Indian) and has very dark hair yet he has one strand of ginger hair. It's weird.
