I'm the average college user, gonna get a new one because my Packard Bell keeps telling me that my memory is running too low (512mb on XP Home), it's a 4 yr old laptop:o

Anyway teh basic things I do on it would be

    -internet
    -music downloads
    -making mp3 for the car
    -using office
    -storing photos etc

A lot of the time I'll be doing 3 of these at once. So all I wanna know is what should I look for, no point in buying something that is gonna be too powerful for what I need!

The only thing I'm fairly sure of is that I'll need 2g's of ram? Right?
