    hi

does anyone have this club and wud they recommend it?

i dont really use a driver a lot so wud a club like this be too much of a step up or wud it be ideal?

i play off 18 and have a tendency to slice the ball

Haven't used the Taylor made but I had a similar problem which was corrected by a King Cobra 10.5 degree "F" speed driver which is also drawn.

I'd advise a few lessons to sort your slice out. Then buy an R7 quad which you can set up to do whatever shape shot you wish.

yeah i know that a slice is more a swing issue than club issue but as we all know our swing tendencies dont disappear forever!

    is the r7 quad good?

The r7 460cc and the 425cc have just been discontinued so you might want to get one sooner rather than later.

The superquad and cbg range will still be made. The burner also.

They're good clubs and i'd recommend!

Go for a wee go of them before you buy though.

I have an R7 425. Really good club. And you can set it up for a draw, tho I wouldn't recommend relying on the set up of a driver to cure your draw. You should work more on your swing, maybe get a few lessons.

As a side note, whats the story with illegal drivers? Are they now banned for all golfers? is the R7 one of those?

I think all of the r7 series is legal through 2008 but if in doubt check R&A and USGA sites. I thought about going for the r7 425 myself a few weeks ago. Saw them on a UK site for under €200 shipped. Checked again this week and they were sold out  Not unhappy as such with my own driver anyway so maybe for the best. Wouldn't mind tricking around with the weights though and seeing how ball flight is affected. Guess I'll have to wait til the superquad gets superceded...

I tricked around with the weights and it ended up messing me up even more. After a while I just put them back to the neutral setting. I kinda think they're a bit of a gimmick on the club, but everything else about it is brilliant.

I bought an R7 Quad before Christmas. About €195 delivered. It's legal btw.

Stiff shaft and a 9.5Deg loft. Fine club. No issues with it so far.
