Download the firmware for the X51 or X51V, connect PDA to your PC and run firmware update

A couple of seconds with Google came up with this link:

    http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R112544&SystemID=PDA_AXIM_X51&os=PPM&osl=en&deviceid=7643&devlib=0&typecnt=1&vercnt=1&formatcnt=1&fileid=147229

Never used a Dell PDA so you may want to check elsewhere to see if this is the latest firmware for the X51V

Remove all CF and SD Cards aswell they could be causing the problem.

Look up how to get the PDA into bootloader mode and then you can flash it from there.

Have you downloaded and installed the firmware update from Dell? What does it say when u try and run it?

I downloaded firmware, from dell, problem is that when I switch it on all I get is the blue dell screen, and activesync says it not connect, i know the cable works as it charges it when it switch off. The only way to that is remove battery. So any know any that will re flash it for me it's only 2 years old .
