You can order it from some online german retailers for just over €500 (Expansys are rip off but do get the phones before other people). Apparently you just have to select English when you turn it on for the first time.

SE have really taken their time releasing this.

If your going to ebay it you'll get a hong kong import for around just under 500 inc delivery. If course if the thing goes tits up your in trouble so seller feedback is something you should check very carefully if you go down that route. Check for any negative reports about the product. Having said that if you get proof of purchase you may be able to get the product serviced - i remember doing that with some ericsson gear i bought down in oz, it failed and i had it replaced ericsson in ireland.

Customs are a gauntlet that you'll have to run. Alot of stuff I've got from overseas has never been intercepted, that being said you might be unlucky and get caught. Its one of the "risks" associated with buying from outside the EU.
