does anybody know anything about getting a working visa for the US like the visa you get for oz? my brother told me he's thinking of applying for it. i always thought it was just a lottery for the green card and that was why there are so many illegal irish in the states but he seems to think he will have no problem getting one.

Unless things have changed recently (they could have, I haven't heard) it is pretty near impossible to get a working visa for America, outside the green card, J1 (student), H1 (speciality skilled worker), or L1 (inter company transfer) routes. Unless he fits into any of these categories I wish him all the luck in the world....he'll need it!
