So I've had it jailbroken for the past few months and with the iphone apps etc. Mail was working great even with IMAP settings but in the last few days would not connect to the smtp server to send my mail. It will receive and sync etc but not send. I upgraded firmware to 1.1.2 and jailbroke it again and then loaded the 1.1.2 iphone apps on as mail does not work at all once you upgrade. Mail now loads but still the same problem.

I have the recommended imap settings inputted afaik. Anyone else having problems?

ALSO since updating, once I connect to itunes its showing it as constantly syncing beside the ipod icon despite the fact that the only thing that is set to sync is ical and contacts. I can't stop it from syncing either. When I click eject it freezes itunes. The only thing I can think is I didn't update itunes to the newest version as I wasn't sure if this would brick the ipod touch? (That was the original advice but don't know if that still stands) What to do?

First of all, you can't brick your iPod... you can always restore.

Completely restore your iPod after installing the latest version of iTunes and try again.

Also, try connecting with a different wireless network first, eliminate yours out of the equation.

cool I'll give it a go. Hopefully I won't have to completely restore as then I'll have to downgrade again, then jailbreak, then upgrade, jailbreak again and install the apps :S
