Anyone else dissapointed with their Samsumg DVD recorder?

    I got a Samsung R149 DVD player/recorder about 6 months ago to replace a Sony DVD player I got about 4 years ago.

    The sony was great, it cost about €400 at the time and I got it chipped to play multiregion.

    So I needed to get a recorder and from all the reviews bought the Samsung for about €170.
    But it's very disappointing, two main gripes 1) slow to load a DVD to play, slow to react to most things in fact. and 2) "fussiness"It stutters more on my homevideo dvds that the Sony did.
    I was able to make it multiregion with a code but considering getting something better.
    Is this a case of you get what you pay for?
    Anyone else got the same problem?
    Anyone else got a DVD recorder they would recommend?
