Can you actually change the lens on that camera? It doesn't seem so, from a quick browse of the Fujifilm website.

You can get wide and tele adapters for some compacts - but I'm struggling to find anything for that model. Might be best to look through the Fuji website and see if it lists accessories. Not sure if any shops near you would have something like that in stock though.

You're not going to find much for it in Waterford anyways, Hennebry's might be worth a try, but I really wouldn't get your hopes up. As far as I know you can get a wide angle adapter for it, not sure if you can get anything else.

Maybe you're thinking of filters, such as polarising filters, etc?

    Review at http://www.dpreview.com/news/0707/07072607fujifilms5800.asp

has a quote of "Integrated lens so users never have to invest in more lenses or worry about dust on the sensor (a common problem with SLR cameras and detachable lenses)."

under the "Other benefits of the new FinePix S5800 include:" section.

You will be having an interesting chat with the salesperson.

I vote for the wide-lens converter. It changes your view on the world. Literally too :)

Sorry, mixing up my ss and 55.
I got converters for my Canon S3IS and found myself using the wide far more than the tele.

Thanks everyone for all your help i really appreciate it,
Just a quick question what is a teleconverter and what is the difference between a 2.0 and a 3.0.

teleconverter makes your lens longer - think of it as a telescope, as in, it increases the zoom and makes stuff further away look closer. I suspect 2.0 means it doubles your magnification and the 3.0 trebles it. Purely a guess because I'm not sure what you're actually looking at... remember though, these things won't give you great sharpness and I think the camera has a decent zoom on it anyway.
