Weekly tickets - difference in weekly ticket price - Iarnród Éireann

Went to buy my weekly ticket this morning but no-one selling tickets in my station (machines do not sell weekly tickets) so said I would buy my weekly ticket at my destination station.

When I did this, they wanted to charged me €11.50 more for the same ticket.

Rang Customer Service (!) in IR, who advised me that this was indeed correct - that the computers in the two stations were different and that both were correct!

Now I have to buy a daily ticket and a weekly ticket later on in the week - what are my chances of getting a refund from IR??????????/

What hope does Ireland have of an Integrated Ticketing System when IR can't sell the same ticket from 2 diffferent stations at the same price.

Basically, it costs me €x to commute weekly from one station but if I was doing the reverse journey it would cost me €11.50 more per week?

    How stupid is this?????????????

Not stating your start and destination mean no one can make any useful comment

The ticket computers are the same at all stations, its staff keying in the wrong ticket codes, always have last weeks ticket with you as lazy staff get the ticket machine to read it and issue a new one thus avoiding the hassle

I've heard of Athy Dublin not being the same as Dublin Athy but its day tickets only

You would be best off heading here www.railusers.ie they at least know how the system works

Give the stations you used OP.

For example, Dublin-Nenagh is €40 return while Nenagh-Dublin is €25 return.(it was last time I checked)

There are some long-term promotional fares out there.
