New Creative Zen Connection Problem

hi my creative zen 8gb is constantly disconecting ive been able to put music on it and i have updated the firmware which seemed to fix the problem but it's playing up again on me. When i connect it, it says docked and the USB sybol shows it's static. Attempt to put files on it and it cuts off and comes back a few seconds…

Could it be the usb cable ?
