cable pc to lcd tv/ monitor

    i am trying to connect my tv to the my lcd tv (samsung) went to PC world yesterday and picked up cable - called PC Monitor Cable HDDB15 male to HDDB15 male - to enable me to watch PC on the TV but no use - any suggestions why this is - how i can over come this problem

    help appreciated

    OK, you're saying that you want to connect a tv to an lcd tv, right? Why? If you mean connect the laptop to the lcd tv then the cable you have should connect them fine as long as both of them have the necessary connections. That cable is only for video though, it doesn't carry the audio.

    yeah connecting laptop to tv - just a blank screen - bought it in PC world - was told it would carry the audio as well!!!

    It doesn't carry audio on that cable unless it has a separate cable with it that will connect into the headphone jack.

    You have to setup the dual monitor display thing on your laptop. It is generally a button combination that does this. On mine it's fn + f8. Try that.
