is that perchance a router you got with an eircom broadband account? coz if it is theyve got custom firmware in it to lock out a load of features such as dmz-ing

had problems with one of the eircom boxes in work when we were setting up a vidcon system and had to buy our own one and set it up ourselves instead

just go to portforward.com and go to the page where ya pick the router ya have and then it will bring ya to a page to pick a program or whatever and select playstation network and it will guide ya through it

tbh i ve had the firewall open on it for months without problems, just make sure your desktop has a firewall installed and there shouldnt be any problems?

Do you have to turn the firewall completely off ? I think I have mine set to "low" and it works fine for ps3/360 and torrents. But good advice if you do turn off the firewall make sure any pc's on that network have a desktop firewall.

Okay everything that has just been told to you forget it ,its all muck.If you like me are eircom dmz is not called dmz.Its called IP passthrough. You will find this in the EXPERT SETTINGS when you enter you will be warned dont mind it ,its hot air to cover their behinds.as long as you dont dabble in anything you dont fully understand you will have no problem.More menus and sub-menus are now available.Go to configure and more lists will appear ,as above go to IP passthrough and within this another list of devices connected to your comp is displayed.Scroll down and choose the ps3,xbox,wii.

p.s if the console doesnt appear in the list just reload

Four year old thread revival is a no-no.
