Sales reps - good job?

    Hi everyone..

I am thinking of changing career, and becoming a scientific sales rep - and would like peoples opinion on what the job is really like.

I guess the one of perks of the job are that you get to manage your time yourself - but how many calls are you on average to make per day/week? Can it get really stressful if potential clients won't take the time to meet you - or how do you get around this? Also, if I'm new to the job, what sort of strategies would I need to grow new business? would I be depending on cold calling?

Also, getting a nice car to get you from a to b is a great perk - but whats the deal with benefit in kind payments these days? If a company say the salary (without commission) is 40K, do you pay your benefit in kind from this? or would this already be taken into account.

If there are any parts of the job that really annoy you - please tell me! or on the other hand, why do you love the job!! :)

    Thank you all in advance!!
