Having troubles everytime I sign up for some Boards event, I am forced to say - NO!!! Losing place to live, few friends, being threatened..., thank you, I don't need anything more.
Well, we'll see in 12 hours before that...

Yep its a brilliant spot and live close by so count me in for that..

I have a few shots on my flickr if anyone wants to have a look..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,624 ✭✭✭✭Fajitas!

Tis about 2 and a bit hours at the most away from Dublin & Waterford, and about an hour from Cork, maybe two hours from Galway... Dunno about that though.

Good stuff. It'll be a weekend anyways, most likely Saturday night.

May have access to one of the old state homes nearby too, but not definite. (Shep, you might know of it - a place called Dirk?)

How about we pop down around the clock tower instead???

Anyway Id be interested, I'll go with what ever date suits most people. Not too push tbh! Just be ready for 1,000,001 questions on how to take pictures.

Depends on the date but yeah, I might be on (and I might have a new camera too which'd be cool).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,200 ✭✭✭kensutz

I hope to have a new camera myself and a couple of new lenses

Well, we're still a fair bit away from having settled dates, never mind times :p

Probably start between 10 and 12, it's pretty much the border between Limerick and Tipp... Not a clue where the ferry is from there though! :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,081 ✭✭✭sheesh

I'm busy for the next few months but it would be a nice day out provisional me up for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,980 ✭✭✭✭phog

This would be my first meet-up but I'd like to add my name to the list if I'm free on the day.

How good a photographer should I be?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,624 ✭✭✭✭Fajitas!

Obviously we'll have to talk about all this closer to the time because I'm "not working date dependent" but I'll be coming from Charleville if I'm coming and thus if you want, I might be able to pick you up somewhere near Limerick. Not sure exactly where in Kerry you are but we could perhaps come to some arrangement if possible.

    :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,219 ✭✭✭Calina

Killimer to Tarbert ferry?? Used to be down there most summers years ago as a kid, playing pool in the pub with the shop across the road. :)

I'll put my name down too, sounds like a big meet up. Another one who should have a new lens come then too.

I'm very interested, really depends on the date. :)

If you're thinking March, remember Easter is at the end of March this year.

Only saw this now. Id be up for heading to a Munster meet, not sure about the Glens though. Not much there tbh. I used to go walking there every Sunday, and unless the weather is good you get very little, and not much to the location at all, one or two nice spots, but not a day's worth, unless you go on further past the glens and up into the mountains. IMHO. Like your suggestion of heading to Glenstall in the same trip, its a fantastic spot, esp on a nice day, I used to pop in there to hear some chanting before going for a walk!

ps: depending on date wld either be setting off from Cork or Tralee if anyone wants/needs a lift to wherever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,424 ✭✭✭440Hz

Is this being planned for the end of Feb like the Meath(?) one? Id go to both if they were spaced out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 772 ✭✭✭floydmoon1

would be interested in going to this.coming from killarney myself so if anyone needs a lift just ask.

I like the place for a walk and to practice on moving water. After all the rain the river is probably in full flow but some of the paths might be a bit mucky. If I get a chance over the week-end I'll try to get out there.

The link is to a few I took there on New Years Eve - http://pix.ie/phogpix/album/318709.

Hope this helps to whet your appetite.

I'd be interested in coming along to this too if I'm free. How about the last weekend in March? 29th/30th? That should be enough notice?

Here are a few wide shots to give an idea of what it is like but there's plenty in there for macro lovers too.

Sorry for the late reply, been away on holidays.

So any dates suiting people at the moment? I'd really prefer if it was after March, because I've fashion shoots on the next two weekends, and am off to NY the one after that!
