    Hello All,

I am thinking of going skiing can anyone recommend me a low cost ski resort , as I have priced places like Andorra and Austria they come in around 1200-1400 euro pp. I am looking to spend maybe 700-900.

Is it better to get a package that includes skis, boots, lessons, and lift pass, or should buy that when I get to my resort.

    Rgds

    Will

    where are you pricing these?!

Livigno in Italy cost me €600 for everything you want except the lessons which are I think €90 for 6 mornings, 2hrs. Booked through Crystal but I think better deals can be gotten with Panorama.

Oh stayed in an apartment btw.

Hotels are overpriced and not worth it imho.

    Cheers for the info tywy.

Another question though for ya, whats livigno like, socially wise.

This is my first time along with my two mates. I looked at Andorra - Arinsal on CrystalSki, and for Flights, Hotel, Ski's, Boots, Lesson's, Coach Transfer, and Lift Pass it was costing me 1200 euro.

Livigno is great craic, duty free and there's loads of bars. The only thing about it is there's a 4 hr transfer. Worth it imo.

Hotel's aren't worth it I don't think, more space in an apartment.

What week are you looking to go? Is it half term? Cuz that's gonna be expensive...

I am thinking either the second last week of February or last week, is that still a good time to go?

Also should I get all the bits and pieces in the resort, ski's and alike?

I always think it's worth paying a bit more for a package if it's your first time organising, it'll be worth it for the ease of mind. I'd shop around though, I don't think I ever came close to paying a grand for a skiing trip

mightnt be something your in to at all but i heard fm104s strawberry alarm clock are going skiing and are getting listeners to join them.i cant remember how much it is but sounds pretty cheap. You just ring up the travel company and say you want to go on the Strawberry Alarm clock trip and you get it at a cheaper cost as far as i know.

You might hate the strawberry alarm but sound like a great deal!!

@Willstev. One thing to remember when your booking your ski trip is the date makes such a huge difference, if you go later in the season (March) the trips generally work out cheaper, or if you go around the 26th of Jan, its also works out cheaper. Mid Febuary is the Peak season so not only will it cost you more but the slopes are generally packed with Parents & Kids on half term.

All that aside as mentioned, Livigno is a great spot for Ski, Snow and Nightlife, its also a tax free area so the cost of a pint is low.

You should be able to get a cheaper package for ~800/1000.

If you could push it out until March alot of Irish Skiers/Boarders are going to Livigno for the Irish Snowboard & Ski Championships this year
