Book ski lessons, or just show up?

Heya - I'm heading over to Lillehammer, Norway on the 2nd of Jan for five days with my friend. Neither of us have ever ski'd before so we need lessons.

We booked the flights and hotel ourselves as all the packages were for a week or forthnight and we wanted something a bit shorter so we wouldnt have to take too much time off work.

Should I try and book us in now for ski lessons over the web; or will it be fine for us to show up at the resort (Hafjell) and just buy our ski passes and get lessons? Not sure what to do as I have no experience of what these ski resorts are like? Bit hesitant to book online now as we would need to be a bit flexible... we might end up heading to a different slope or the time might be inconvenient.

Any advice or your own experience would be appreciated! :)

Just show up, you'll be fine. It's the Irish packages that are mad to have us book and pay for everythiing months in advance. People who actually live over there don't do that.

Also if you just turn up, you may find that getting a few private lessons suits you better than a course of mixed language classes, or that there is a smaller, competetive school which will do you a better deal.
