    Anyone know much about Polo's electrics? Have the follwoing problems;
    • have full electrical power for everything except ignition / starter motor
    • no click at all from solenoid

      Is there a common problem with Polo ignition barrels?
      Is there a starter relay?

      Can't find the starter motor either?! :(

      Help?! Any assistance much appreciated!

    Faulty ignition switch, just the electrical part not the barrel. very common.

    As per Mr.D above - the switches give trouble on a regular basis. As stated above, you only need the switch in behind the key & barrel assembly.

    Great, thanks so much for the feedback.

    Can one access the switch easily or does one need to go to an auto-electrician or recognised dealer?

    Any decent mechanic/auto-electrician should be able to replace the switch. No need to go to a VW dealer whatsoever.

    Just be sure to get a definitive diagnosis before replacing the part - remember, this is the internet ;)
