Just wondering what Yamaha bass guitars are like, i have never played one. Was thinking of getting one from the net.

    Thanks.

The RBX range appearently are terrific, I've only played 'em in store so can't give a thorough account of it's technical specifications and playability but the higher-range ones come highly reccommended.

I'm about to buy a fretless BB, I'll let you know how it is when I get it.

As far as I recall, Takeshi Ueda used to play those before his Fender P.

therer great just like everything yamaha makes(which also means there indestructable, ive seen guys jumping on the neck of yamaha basses and it not breaking) the lower end ones are mleh but solid and good for the price and the higher end ones are terriffic, the jm model is SAVAGE.

I've heard the QC on the JM is terrible. A good few people over at talkbass certainly ain't happy with theirs. JM is now with EBMM and playing the new Bongo 6. :)

Back to Yamaha, great basses. If you can pick up an 80's BB you're on to a winner. Excellent basses made in Japan.

Have an RBX375 myself and love it to bits. In fact, I am fairly reluctant to change to anything else as my 'main'. The pickups are fine, but the low B lacks clarity (was unsure if it was the pups or the strings, but I have tried 3 different types), so if you're getting a 4-string, you should be just fine.

Yamaha guitars (bass and otherwise) always have really good pick-ups.
