Well one thing that is for sure is that his dominance of the sport is over. This is down to two things, Taylor isnt as consistant as he used to be and the players are all alot better now than they were. There is no doubt that Taylor is the best ever but up until about 3 or 4 years ago he didnt really have anyone challenging him other than Part. It was a walk in the park for him and thats why he won so many titles. If the same players were around then that are now I dont think Taylor wopuld have dominated quite so much.

He isnt reaching the high averages that he did before but there is way more pressure on him now because he knows there are alot of players out there now who can beat him. With players like McDine, Shepherd, Wade, Lewis, MvG, Klaasen and the other young dutch guys the standard is only going to get better. I cant see anyone dominating darts in the next few years, those days are over.

Taylor was the best ever but his domination is over.

At 47 my hand eye cordination would be fairly fecked too.Taylors dominance of the sport was over about three years ago. Yes he is not as consistent as he used to be and there are no buts about that, (but) one year without winning anything on sky bar the premier league is not bad .GSOD anyone?

Aye, his dominance of the sport is over, and has been for the last three years (IMO, at least he had it Barneveld couldn't and can't, nor anyone else apart from Bristow say that they were dominant)

The same players that are around now were around then apart from the up and coming developing players and Barneveld, thats it, Part couldn't do it, 7-0 in 2001, Wade was still developing, and other players like him.

McDine, Shepherd, Wade, Lewis, MvG, Klaasen, Not one among them apart from Wade who will ever make it

Taylor and Barneveld have both beat each other many times but you are also forgetting that Phil Taylor has been at the top of the sport since 1990 and beat near enough anyone that was available to beat. 17 years at the top, I'd take it.

Taylor still is the best ever and no one can ever take that away from him

Absolutely ....staying at the top of anything for such an extended period of time is an incredible accomplishment.

What he did may never be rivaled.
