all channels not available

Pace box gave up the ghost today and have stuck in an old grundig box pro tem. I have full sky pavkage sports/movies etc. but its only showing channels up to ch193 current tv. Also for example UK Gold on 109 is fine but Gold+1 is saying "No Satellite signal being received".
Is it just a matter of the box picking up the latest software or can I do something to move things along?

sounds very much like your 'lnb' (block on dish end ) is knacked.. that could have taken the original box out too.

No, it sounds like the box is on a very old version of the software, if the LNB was knackered he'd either have very specific sets of channels (same polarity or transponders present/missing) or none at all.

You could attempt forcing a software update on it, otherwise leave it powered on overnight for a few nights. The no channnels above 193 suggests that it can't handle the new channel numbering scheme, which was brought in when the radio stations moved to 0xxx.

Grundig boxes were well known for power supply faults, which caused problems such as no signal messages, etc.

Go into Services, 4, 0, 1, Select. In this Installer Menu, go to LNB Setup, and make sure 22KHz Command is switched ON (Or just press Red button in this menu to Reset defaults).
So as it stands, either your LNB isn't switching, or Grundig is banjaxed.

Doubt it only put in a new quad one last weekend and the Lidl Silvercrest FTA receiver is working fine. And last time round I used the Grundig with a UK card it only went up to ch118. Didn't matter though cos we only wanted it for the football on Channel 5 (105)

Ah, didn't know you had a quad with another box working fine.

In that case, do as MYOB suggests, otherwise my suggestion.

Forced Software Update: Unplug box, then while holding BackUp button on front of digibox, plug box back in. Continue to hold Backup button until all the LED's light up on front of box. Process takes 10mins or so.

Thanks for the advice lads. I think I'll leave it for a day or 2 and see if it updates itself. If it doesn't I'll do the forced update then.

give the software update a go, but it still *could* be an lnb issue, just because some of the outputs on the Quad are ok, doesnt mean ALL of them are

True I'll swop them around tomorrow.

all channels now appearing cept movies and sports. getting a message say this is the wrong card for this box, contact sky etc.
Am gonna force the software update tomorrow and see how it goes.

You need to ring sky to pair the card to the box

Just did and pay channels appeared after 10 minutes.
