thanks, most of the software you guys posted detected 94 jpgs, but only 6 are viewable, is there anything else i can do?

if one or more sectors of the file were overwritten there is not a lot you can do

you could use a tool to do a raw backup of all the sectors on the SD card in case you find a better util later on
