right this might be a but of a weird one.

the situation is that ill need to talk to a set of people but they must hear me at all times. they dont really have to talk to me but if its just press a button that would be ok.

i would have id say about 10 other people who would need to hear me at once. we would all be using headsets also. the ones that are small with a ear piece and mic and then if they can have it the keep noise out ear phones.

    so a breakdown:

    radio 1

    talks at all times to

    radio 2-11
and can talk back at the press of a button

id be on a really tight budget for this also so what would be the cheepest option for me..

PMR 446 would be your best bet...

These radios do not require a licence and they work straight out of the box after charging the batteries like any other "walkie-talkie".

Be careful when buying though. Cheap prices generally mean cheap performance. The transmit and receive audio tends to suffer even with an external heatset or speaker mic. Not much use if you can't understand each other.

My 2 nephews got a pair of Tevion PMR 446 radios for christmas from Aldi. For either 29.99/39.99 (can't remember) they are actually quite good. Solid build quality, rechargeable batteries and dual charging pod. There is a socket for a headset (forgot to lift the dustcover). Pretty sure it's a standard enough connection.

Once again, don't skimp even though you are on a budget. Argos do 4 packs, maybe 6 packs with heatsets included so worth checking that out. Beware that the distance/range of PMR 466 does vary depending on where you are using them, eg building vs. open ground.

All PMR 446 radios allow for communication to each other provided they are all on the channel.

    Hope this helps...!

The Lidl ones also (from time to time) are quite good at about €29.95 a pair.

Portable CBs also need no licence, but are very much more expensive and very bulky.
