Will this ram work?

I own an acer aspire 3002lc and the battery is bust,the charger is bust the internal jack may be bust too but all of these can be fixed with a little elbow grease and some time what I am concerned about is the ram.

It runs a 1.6ghz processor with 256mb of ram. I want to upgrade the ram (its max is 2048mb on two slots, 1024mb in each) I was looking at the prices for the ram and well...its undesirable. It has the same kind of a connection a 200 SODIMM but its ddr2. If I bought this and put it in will it just run at the lower speed?

I did a bit of googling and confirmed that it won't work. However I found this

on Ebay. It seems to have what I want for a reasonable price. Any thoughts?

BTW: I got this laptop for free so 150 beans to spend it it isn't bad :P.

Yes, it will work. Though 2gb is unnecessary, a well maintained XP with 1gb of ram is more then sufficient for anything the rest of the machine could keep up with.
