I think that looks mad! No sound samples though so you cant really tell if it sounds good never mind how it may feel. I would like to try it but would it be too far from having a solid block of organic material in your hands.

    I said organic :p

Kinda reminds me of the aluminium guitar Piggy from Voivod was playing for the last few years before his death. That's not revolutionary, it's a carbon fibre rip-off :p;)

You can hear that one on the last couple of Voivod cd's.

And on the subject of... let's say non-standard...

Check out this Parker 6 string bass from 1983, made for Anthony Jackson

Check out the Youtube link above to see and hear it in action! ;)

I think if they're going to go mad and design a bizarre new form of guitar they should try to go for a more interesting shape than the kind of generic singlecut outline. The piggy one is not particularly attractive either IMHO but at least they tried something different.

As regards the Parker bass, interesting...1983 hey? it has several of the design features that made it into the production guitar in 1993. And it looks 100 times better than the travesty/bass that Parker finally sold

Avert your eyes if you're sensitive:

    Ugly POS!

Nothin' revolutionary about it. Its just another building material now. Plenty of guitars made using carbon fibre.

there are somethings that only a mother can love, and that carbon fibre guitar is one of them. sounds lovely, but man you'd want to close your eyes everytime you wanted to play it.

on the other hand, that 6-string parker bass *nyom*

Those Afri-can guitars are nice. Real mean and dirty bluesy tone outta them.

Those Parker basses were alright except the heads were manky looking.

Interestingly enough I seen a carbon fibre cello being made on How Its Made on Discovery Channel last night. It resonates sound louder than wood, but thats no use for electric instruments, but it is lighter too, so I guess thats cool.
