Can't fuppin' wait! It's replaced The Simpsons as my fave programme. The Maguires find out Karen (their new daughter-in-law, married to the gorgeous Jamie) was shagging Frank for a while a few years back! Their reaction is something I anticipate with much glee...
And the second episode will be over on E4 straight after. Love the way they do that. Back to work the next day and will probably need an early night after the New Year's celebrations, but sod it...

Ah thanks for the heads up - I wasn't aware that it was back so soon!
The show has definitely slipped in quality - the Maguires can't replace Veronica and Kev, I miss Sheila's nuttiness and Fiona's down-to-earth nature, but it's still enjoyable.

Again only 6 episodes? Seasons had at least seven episodes plus a special. So surely there's more than 6?

I know. I've never known of a show to lose so many great characters so quickly. I personally think the quality has remained though.

I only just bought season 4, is this 5 or 6 starting now?
Steve and Fiona were my favourite characters. I think it went downhill with Marty etc joined.

Season 5 is starting and there's 16 episodes apparently this season.

Have the first 4 series on DVD, cant wait for this one. Definitely the best show on tv when its on. And 16 episodes this year, thank christ.

Have to say this didn't disappoint the other night, even though characters are dropping like flies, the show still manages to hold onto that je ne sais quoi that makes it what it is.
The originality isn't just as acute as it once was though and it's running the risk of turning into a soap in some regards....I've said it before on here but I hope Ch4 don't run it into the ground in an attempt to keep the revenue flowing in....if it starts looking tired then bin it. Looking forward to next week.

BTW for anyone who missed it it's available free to d/l or stream on 4od, as are the previous 4 seasons...
