You get an "av multi out" cable which is similar to the connection you get with the PS2, yellow composite video and red and white RCA, you can also use a scart adapter with this...

And you get a HDMI port for HDTVs, but you need to buy your own cable

it will work with a hd tv or a normal tv straight out of the box , just use the scart block that came with it.
