A friend of mine, her dad is doing peacekeeping with the UN in kosovo and she really misses him and rarely gets to talk to him.

Are there any internet phones or chatrooms that they could use to talk? MSN messenger is blocked and i think skype is too (i dont think he can install anything on the computer)...

any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks a lot!:)

    (they're french if that matters)

Why does'nt she get him to use calling cards like we all did ??

There is very limited access and also point to note the mission in Kosovo is NATO not the UN, UNMIK in the UN mission and very small and limited based in Skopje

thanks for the help everyone but she's sorted now anyway ..... she might be using the calling cards im not really sure. i haven't had a chance to talk to her yet.

she gets to call him once per week now( maybe he calls her again im not sure). is that generally the max?

    They could try Gmail Chat.

Also as a side note there are plenty of UNMIK buildings around. I am staying beside the "mine clearance building" also the UN police camp is up the road from the office. I actually see about 90% UNMIK vehicles and about 10% Kfor
