DS Lite charger problem

I got a new DS lite for the xmas, but the charger doesnt seem to work.
It got brought back from the states, so im having to use it through a
US- UK/Ire plug adapter. The adapter works fine, because I charge my laptop through it. Anybody have any issues with DS chargers? Should I just go and buy a new one or one through ebay?

No lights appear when the charger is connected.

It depend on your charger. It will say on the charger the spec of it, if it says
Input: 110v - 230v .....(this covers both US and UK Ireland regions) then it sounds like your charger just isnt working.
    If it says
Input: 110v..... then thats a US charger only and you'll need a transformer.
An adapter only changes the pins. You need a down transformer to change the Irish 230v to the needed US 110v.

Yeah its the 110v version. Probably easier to get hold of a new charger than a transformer?

No point for a new thread so I'll ask here. Does anyone know if you can charge them with a usb cable attached to the pc?

Went looking for a DS charger today and they were no where to be found! I got my DS in New York so I had an adapter. I lost the charger though. I presume a charger from Ireland would do the job anyway, right?

Well I sent Mr Janeybabe into Gamestop today and he navigated the huge queue only to be told that they didn't have one!

(And he would kill me if he ever found out I called him Mr Janeybabe.)

Did the same myself. Got spare stylus, usb cable pouch etc all just over a euro each. Postage is free, but takes about a month.

In Bargain alerts there is also a thread on a very handy thing for a ds. It's called a R4DS card. Have a read ;)
