got an xbox for xmas and set it up as a media center extender and for xboxx live. My problem is i can connect to live fine once i set the pppoe with the username and password.
but i can only connect to my media center pc when i erase the pppoe settings.

Its all connected to my home wired network through an eircom netopia modem/router.
what do i have to do to set up both to work together?
    thanks

    At a guess,

Problem is that your Xbox is handling the PPPoE, which must mean its connected to your modem directly. This should be done by your router and not by your Xbox.

Essentially the problem is that your computers are on different (logic) networks. Get a router to the PPPoE / broadband part, then connect computer and xbox to the router and they can both talk to each other and to the Internet (Xbox live!)

ive got the xbox and computer hooked up to the router. it'll work as a media center when the pppoe settings arent set on the xbox. but then i cant access xbox live. the modem has the pppoe settings set.
how do i get the xbox to work without putting in the pppoe?
    thanks

Your xbox & PC should not have PPPoE settings. The PPPoE settings should be stored on your router. So you should have something like,

Modem -> Router (WAN Port) -> Port 1 PC, Port 2 Xbox

Make sure that neither the Xbox nor the PC is connected to the WAN port.
