    Hi folks,

looking to go buy a satnav tomorrow - prob garmin 200/250

i dont have a cigarette lighter in my car, what alternative power source is there?

besides buying extra charger for home use that is - some other way to power it in car?

thanks in advance for any replies

Maplins had a solar trickle charger, but I think that goes directly into car battery throught the missing cigarette lighter socket! There must be something along those lines on ebay though!

    Something like this maybe...

Alternatively you could get one of those portable power packs that you can jump start your car with. Most of them have a cigarette lighter socket that you can use to charge your sat nav.

Then you have to charge the power pack when it's battery is depleted. :)

The other option is to install a cigarette lighter socket in your car. Tap into a fuse in your fuse box, drill a neat hole in your dashboard and away you go!
